PostSubject: Slizers: Ressurected Review Topic   Sun Aug 01, 2010 11:37 pm

For years, I've been contemplating an epic about the Throwbots. I did create a very short-lived one on BAW: Destiny Arena, but that was canceled when I realized that website was terrible.

Recently, however, after doing my comedy, VEZONICLE, I began brainstorming a new concept: What if the Slizers where humans, or at least as human as those in VEZONICLE? Well, this was the result. Different chapters are narrated by different characters, although most characters do far more than one chapter. However, they do have distict narration styles; Turbo talks in run-on sentences with questionable, though not incorrect, grammer, often in a round-about way, while Ski narrated casually, but accurately at a relatively low-level.

The chapters are (for now) divided into the eight Sectors, although this is not a terminal epic; it shall go on as long as there are fans who support it and a living, breathing author. The plot shall build and bounce of itself, and new characters will be introduced as old characters reoccur. The world of Slizers: Ressurected is huge, and Turbo, Ski, Scuba, Torch, Amazon, Granite, and Electro will take you across planet Slizer, and perhaps beyond, exploring a fantastic world of humorus characters, mysterious occurances, all while a dasterdly ultimate villian who seeks revenge on a crime that was never committed...

But who is this villian? What will Jet's role be in this story? Not everything is as it seems. We have seven main characters, and that means seven stories, seven points of veiw... and they can lie. To you. To everyone. And to themselves.

The dawn of a new Millenium is approaching. Villians will be defeated. Characters shall be introduced. Friends and enemies shall be made. A world will be brought to the seconds of its annihilation... but most importantly, an old LEGO theme will be...

Resurrected.

Discuss away...

You're joking.

As for the Game Master, I am sorry to say the Game Master is the Game Master and no one else. Any resembelence to a character from LEGO or otherwise is completely coincidental...

So yeah, sorry it took me so long, but this is a fairly long sort of thing you wrote here. :P

I have to say that this sure is a departure from your norm, SpectRaKy... pretty good, actually. Still, call me weird, but I'm not sure still about the "humanizing" of Turbo. :P He was the only Throwbot other than Granite who was completely nonhumanoid, as far as I remember.

Other than that, though, it's actually quite enjoyable to read something about the Slizers that isn't just a rehash of the dead "official" storyline, especially something as good as this. :P

Hm, if you like it, I might just continue this instead of GENERATIONS.

You know, the reason I stopped updating this is because Arty was the only one reading it, and he wasn't very interested. If you'd like to keep reading, I'll keep writing.

Although, I'm curious; what exactly is my norm?

Seems to me like your norm is either musicals or some kind of game. :P Hacker, the Specter's Last Dance, Puppet Master, Teneo, LORDDROL... etc. Maybe not, but that's just the impression I get.

I mean, you can keep writing on whatever schedule you want to keep. Even if you only update it quarterly, I'll review any new chapter when I can. :P

... I have no idea what quarterly means. :P

Yeah, I'm actually trying to start steering away from musicals and re-orient myself. Musical epics are kind of Denyax, you know? I'm already planning to re-write LORDDROL as just an epic, to be started over the weekend, and I guess I'll look over this and write the next chapter.

Oddly enough, this began as a gaming attempt. I scripted out the original story to be a point-and-click, and only later decided to re-write the story as an epic.

There's just about twelve months in the year, give or take 1.76 days. :P So quarterly is every three months.

And I know, right. So yeah, I'll look forward to that.

Anyway, it works pretty well as an epic. :P

Well, well, well, it has been a while. Not just since I've last posted on this site, but since I've thought about this particular epic.

Thank you for your post, toaelectro! You certainly have my interest about your "Slizer Show". I came up with my idea when my brother and I were considering collecting the 1990's Technic Sets, and I thought it would be interesting if Nick Striker was the pilot of Turbo. Everything else followed after that, with the other Slizers becoming humans in vehicles, with the exception of Amazon.

It's not so much a theory - I am under the impression the Slizers Story, as well as any story written by LEGO pre-BIONICLE, was intentionally left vague. The elemental mechanics, however, were so interesting to me that I was compelled to write fan-fiction about them, although it's mostly been left untouched for over a year; first it was postponed to make room for other projects which culminated in Homebrew, and then was forgotten when Homebrew broke down.

Now, of course, I have to consider reviving it...
