Uh, yeah.

Many-Faced Smilie

Another nice transparent weapon was that trans-neon-green spear featured in so many Underwater sets.

(You don't happen to have a trans-clear spear, do you? :P)

But yes, it is indeed. Now if only I had gotten one. :P Along with all the other earlier Alpha Team sets.

As for the helmets, I just think it would have been nice to go back to a variation on the original drone. After all, why should the water suits be based on the original drones and then the ice drones be based on the water drones? And the weapons? I loved those spears, and never got to play with the chainsaws. And, finally, Ogel had no mutant speeder. He had a hovercraf SHAPED LIKE A SPIDER. Wally, stop making Ogel abuse animals. :P

Christmas Rap Battl-.. I don't want to know. :P

But yeah, I'm pretty sure finding a giant spider than making it a speeder would be a little troublesome.

Uh, the original drones had police hats. In addition to what I mentioned before about the cold breaking their bones, I prefer bubble helmets in nice transparent colors to generic police hats myself. :P

And since when do spiders have six legs, a propeller, and no head? :P

It's a matter of personal preference over the headgear, of course. But seriously, police hats wouldn't work well in the snow for skeletons. :P

By the way, has anyone here ever heard of that weird little set, "Ogel's Marine Slizer"? Sounds like a cross-theme mix-up to me. :P

Anyway, back to Alpha Team: has anyone played the old online games?

Do you mean Evil Music/Mission Deep Sea, or do you mean the ORIGINAL original online games where every agent had their own game? Because I have played both...

Evil Music was the second best point-and-click game I have ever played (second only to MNOLG), although I found Mission Deep Sea a tad... annoying.

As for the originals, Dash's was terrible, but I think the best was... what was her name? Not, Cam, but the other one... hers was pretty good. It reminds me of the original Metroid, as you play as an 8-Bit tomboy firing lasers and 8-Bit enemies...

In Evil Music, Ogel rigs an organ with a weather mechine to create weather that suits his background music (i.e., storms when he plays dramatic music) and Dash and Cam must stop him. To do this, Dash and Cam solve complet puzzels on a beach and then build a boat to take them to Ogel's Lair, where a breif platformer level takes place avoiding Drones. Finally, Cam uses a laser to mess with Ogel's Organ in a complex mini-game, eventually electricuting him and causing his organ to explode. Ogel gets away, but Dash and Cam did manage to stop his Evil Music.

In Mission Deep Sea, you steered the Alpha Team's submarine through many obstacles and mutant sea creatures until to reached Ogel's base, where Dash shuts it down and Ogel escapes in his octapus-like submarine. You occasionally had to solve puzzles which were pretty much pulles from the instructions of the Mission Deep Sea sets.

Spectral: Hardly old? ... They're six years old.

AF: In all three Ice games (The First Encounter, Drones' Menace, and Ogel's Fortress) you pilot the vehicles from the Ice Alpha Team line around an icy desert, passing through caverns and drilling through passages of ice, defeating Snow Crawlers along the way. At various points, you are required to enter some of Ogel's bases, in which you defeat drones, hack computers, and press switches to activate bridges or deactivate force fields outside the bases. At first, in The First Encounter, you only play as Diamond Tooth in the Tundra Tracker, but you gather vehicles and agents as you play through the three games. Finally, at the end of Ogel's Fortress, you destroy his spider-vehicle and deactivate the Ice Orbs, though Ogel gets away.

Ah, but since the theme is old, then it's all absolute. Therefore, we must discuss in relative terms.

Anyway, it sounds like that ice-game had a lot to do with the plot of Mission Deep Freeze. Not that there was much; just the revelation that Ogel was trying to freeze time, not the world, Radia getting frozen, and eventually Ogel getting away.

Spectral: NOT SO. :P Seriously, I'm talking about just the Deep Freeze year absolutely, not in relation to the others, so it's not relative. I admit, though, there wasn't anywhere near the depth of plot in, say, BIONICLE, or even Knights Kingdom II.

AF: Only the old ones. :P

*Ahem* I do recall seeing an introduction animation... Dash jumping in to save Cam from a strange-looking Skeleton Drone who appeared to be trying to spin her into submission. Apart from the Drone (who was just WEIRD), It noticed Cam and Dash seem to be close. They were partnered in Evil Music too...

Coincidence? Oh, and have you ever heard of Agent Geartooth? He was cool...

No, although that's close.

Agent Geartooth is the agent who designed all or most of Alpha Team's vehicles. Although Cam is the team's mechanic, Geartooth is an inventor. However, he appearently is no good in combat and stays in the base during missions.

Also, his "color code" is grey, at least in Deep Freeze.

Speaking of motorcycle gang members, Zed. I suppose you can dye a goatee blue... maybe. :P

Especially when you realize the modle he's riding on is actually closer to the camera, so it's actually smaller than it looks compared to Zed's vehicle. :P

Actually, I like that little Drone Crawler. It was simple and cool.

Tell me, why is it LEGO got so OCD that they had to make every set have one Drone and one Alpha Team thingy, at least? What you ended up with was rediculus vehicles like this, when it would have been fine with just Zed and maybe an extra Alpha Team member. Deep Sea and Deep whatever had some excellent stand-alones, like Ogel's jet sky or that sting-ray Drone vehicle...
