One of you has probably seen some of these images before. But I come before you today with ALL the current-version minifigures for your (dis)approval.

These are all from the Tale. Most of them are simply preliminary, and this is noted in their description (though some [like the Horoscope Man] are likely final due to their minor-ness so far). For those such as Overlord with multiple "suits" and clothes, the versions are shown separately for each chapter. Characters such as Maestro who wear similar clothes in many chapters are usually noted in each chapter they appear in along with their clothes, regardless of whether they remain the same.

Well, that's not all the minifigures, of course. :P

I would very much like to be able to complete a minifigure for each major role in the Tale, as well as most of the minor roles that actually have an effect on the story. For instance, I need ideas for the appearance of all major Codrexians, so if you have ideas, posting them might be a great help to me.

More info, chapters, minifigures, questions, etc. to be posted later.

Wow, this topic going for so long without replies... is an injustice.

The first point which occurs to me is that KKM is, thanks to Johnny Depp's portrayal of Tanto, of all things, currently compatable with LEGO.

As for the minifigures pictured, I think Kaze might be my favorite, just because your description of her matches the minifigure so precisely. It was jarring to see Wally with an actual face, although the armor was spot-on, and I feel that Maestro deserves something a bit more unique than a sith cloak and an angry face, but even little touches like your use of the antennae as administrator power go to show the effort put into to these, and I can appreciate that, easily. Toggle looks as strange as I expected him to, although not strange in precisely the way I expected him to - I did always expect him to have some kind of goggles going on, for whatever reason, although I'm not sure if that's exactly what you're going for on his undisguised model.

If you desperately need ideas for Spectral, I've always imagined him wearing Snape's purple torso and pants, if you have that. Normally I'd say go for a classic skeleton head, but you own none, and that would have been a little jarring from the rest of the cast, anyway. You might have used the one spectrally masked head we have, expect the odds are you don't have it.

But lastly, the reason I thought to come here at all - I am, in fact, going to update the Tropes page of the Tale in the next few days, and I think that one lovely edition would be a picture of some of the main characters, in their minifigure form. Wally, Maestro, and Kaze, at the very least, and probably Overlord as well. If you like, I could even use those green backgrounds of yours as a green screen and try to 'shop them into an Outlands-y background, or even a picture of the Codrex itself.

Thank you for thinking kindly of this crazy project. :P

Yes, KKM is now completable, and I hope to get the LEGO crow in question sometime.

I admit Kaze is my favorite too, for the same reason - she looks just the same in minifigure form. Unfortunately Maestro is kind of difficult, and hence his minifigure has remained "preliminary"... do you have any ideas for a different head?

And "Toggle" and "goggles" may rhyme, but I've always described him as a chef, so I'm not sure where you got that from. :P The lines on the head I've used for his preliminary minifigure form are the kohl eyebrows of the Minifigure Series 2 Pharaoh.

I think I have Snape's purple torso, and that seems like a great idea for Spectral, actually, thank you. I do have a classic skeleton head (I think), as well as pointy-toothed, Castle, Ninjago, Hans Christian Andersen, and Crystal Skull versions of skeleton heads. :P But of course you're right about the odds on the Indiana Jones skull-mask head, and I don't have it. We'll see what I can do once Spectral turns up.

If you wanted to use a picture of the minifigures, I actually still have them lying around and can take a better picture for you, possibly against a better greenscreen of a baseplate (including your choice of suit for Overlord if you want him in the scene). I do have slight doubts about the use of minifigures as a Main Image, though, haha.

I don't think that this was ever your intention, but the old General Trakvan persona often invoked the image of a short, black beard for me, like Santis' (y'know, the red one from Knights' Kingdom II?) or something similar.

And minifigures seem ideal for the main page, as they are the "official" visual representation of the characters - being the only visual media you, the author, have used to depict them - and tie in to the (informed?) LEGO focus of the entire site. A map of the Outlands might be a suitable alternative, if you think that will give you more credibility. :P

Definitely not my intention to give the impression of a beard, let alone a bristly one like Santis's! :P Trakvan evolved in gestalt from a bulky, armored being in the shadows, to something like a doppelganger - slim and faceless, ageless and androgynous - and the latter is the only way I've portrayed him in his only two appearances, with the original Corrupted timeline.

I'm honestly not sure the Tale needs a visual Main Image at the moment, as so many "true" novels don't, and the Tale is technically a "Web Serial Novel". Minifigures are the best current representation, but they're a copyrighted form from the LEGO Group, and they aren't overly serious. :P The real problem comes when one realizes that I'm not really a visual worker - I have no proper working map of the Outlands, and the only other visual media for the Tale are some vague concept face sketches of the protagonists.

I guess if you really wanted a Main Image though, the best way to go might be with an Outlands map.
