| First of all, General Grievous is a pretty good minifigure in LEGO.
Second of all, I don't know who that is.

| Did you know, though, that in the Star Wars story some battle droids survived through all six movies? (Not necessarily shown in the movies, though.)

| I suppose... still, IG-88 was an assassin droid, not specifically a battle droid.

| Iggy rules you all, though. He's shiny!
Where have you seen Battle Droids outside the movies? Not those comics who went to George Lucas and asked to be official, I hope. The comics were good, but making them official leaves very little room for fan-fiction.

| Some versions were... there were five, and at least two weren't silver. (One was black, one was white.)
I'm not quite sure... I think it was either in one of those comics, or a novel by Lucasarts or something.

| The story I heard was that IG-88 built copies of himself. Then, when his current "host" was destroyed, he e-mailed his memories to another copy, or something to that effect. That way, he couldn't be killed. Bounty Hunters ceratinly enjoy cloning themselves, don't they? They must think they're too valuable to sociaty to "die".
Sometimes, for the big jobs, he had mutiple Assassin Droids up and running. Maybe he didn't trust anyone, or maybe he just liked talking to himself.

| The story I heard (from one of the DK Star Wars Guides) was that some experimenters built five IG-88s. There was the old story about the robots going berserk and destroying stuff (including their creators), blah blah blah. Eventually Boba Fett destroyed most of the original IG-88s, at which point the remaining two may have duplicated themselves.

| There were originallt five assassin droids, one of whom was IG-88. Boba Fett destroyed all but two, but IG-88 is the best there is and, as far as I know, the only one who duplicated himself. | |

| The book said that there were five IG-88s, which was a weird idea since other assassin droids had already proven murderous. Boba Fett was said to have destroyed 3 of them, at least back when the original three movies had been made.

| I beleive you are refering to the assassin unit number, which is IG-##, just like the human-cyborg relations unit number is A-#A#. Just because it was an IG unit doesn't mean it was IG-88.
Either you or the book was mistaken, and, knowing you, it was probably the book.
BTW, shouldn't we move this to the Official Star Wars topic, as it is about the movies and books in general, not so much the game?

Sheesh, this is easily the first time an arguement between us ended peacfully, isn't it? And now I'll feel awful If I was wrong.

| Yeah, that's true. This is also the first time an argument between us hasn't been interfered with. For the record, what it got wrong was the original of Barriss Offee's facial tattoos. -|W|G|- | |

| Holowan laberatories built FOUR IG units, IG-86, IG-87, IG-88 and IG-89. When they malfuctioned, all were destroyed except IG-88, who escacped and became a bounty hunter. He was destroyed three times, reactivating himself three times. In one of thise reactivations, he hacked the Death Star II, escentally becoming the Death Star, planning to use it as an ultimate weapon. However, Palpatine noticed and erased IG-88, sucsessfuly destroying the droid's programming. The actual host the droid had been using at the time was later re-discovered and reprogramed by Barpotomous Drebble. | |
