| Finally, a story before BZP. PCWorld reports that the MMO which only recently (September 26) shut down its closed beta (which I participated in) is live for pre-ordering users. From my experience with the game, I doubt it will be very successful for anyone but small children, but that's the exact group that LEGO has been aiming for for a while now. LEGO Universe now costs $40 to play plus a $10 monthly subscription fee. Seems pretty outrageous to me for a quite unremarkable MMO. Thoughts?

| That is a little insane price wise. And to be honest, the only cool things I know about the game would be the Villain-Samurai-Shadowbugish guys, and the Ninja. ~A~ | |

| LEGO Universe could've been better executed. Just make an MMO of the LEGO Videogames (Batman, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Star Wars, ect.) except allow players to build their own enviornments (level editor) and character (character editor).
The plot was unnessessary, as in most MMOs.

| AF: You do know that the Black Samurai is just a minion of the Maelman, right?
Spectral: True, yes. Though who knows, if they had done that, the character editor could be awful such as on the Batman game. And many other things.=|/-\|=

| The actual content of the topic: This saddens me... all that hype for a game like this that costs this much? The posts that came after Morgoth's: What. -|W|G|- | |

| I'm sorry I haven't been active in so long! Maestro: Yeah, I did play beta. It was okay, but it could have been better. What can you really expect from a beta anyway though? Personally, I'll take the free to play Lord of the Rings Online any day. (http://www.lotro.com) Thanks. Spectral: You have a good point there. I think there are enough storylines going on in LEGO for them to choose maybe one or even all of them, like you suggested. | |

| (Like I've said, Morgoth, you actually have a life. No need to be sorry.) LOtR Online... The only problem I see with LEGO Co. using all the storylines from their videogames is that all of their recent videogames (if you don't count BIONICLE Heroes) have been licensed themes. To incorporate them into a customizable... well, a customizable universe... they would probably have to pay additional licensing fees to DC and LucasArts and Warner Bros. and so on. However, I can't see why they didn't incorporate their own distinct storylines, like Alpha Team (or Agents) or Atlantis (or Aqua Raiders or Aquazone) or Adventurers or the incarnations of Racers, or even possibly BIONICLE. But instead, they made up this strange new storyline with purple samurai made of anti-imagination led by some Maelman in a top hat to destroy some Johnny Thunder imitators with swords and Dr. Octopus's arms. | When Wally can summarize something, you know something's wrong. Anyway, if LEGO Universe was less expensive to preorder, I'd have gotten it just to get that orange spaceman minifigure... -|W|G|- | |
