| So, as you can see, here's the spot to discuss those brightly recolored pins and axles that are so commonplace in Technic, BIONICLE, and even Hero Factory sets. Back in 2004, the ubiquitous pin-axle (the one with a pin on one side and an axle on the other side ) became blue. Three years later, the two-length axle followed suit, becoming bright red. The next year, the three-length pin became blue, and the next year the 3-ish (?) length axle with a stud on the end was dark tan. So, what do you think of those? Do they make MOCing in their particular color easier, and are they easier to find? Or are they a eyesore and a headache, and a waste of recolored plastic? -|W|G|- | |

| Well, the red axle are good for red MOCs, the blue half-pin half-axle is good for blue MOCs, the black pin and half-pin half-axles are good for everything else...

| Don't forget that the clear two-length pins are good for everything, and the white pin-axles are also useful. But I really don't get those dark-tan stud-axles. Making them dark tan doesn't make them easier to see, it just makes Von Nebula look even more ridiculous. -|W|G|- | |

| They are easier to find, and everyone overreacts when they see them in new sets and MOCs.
I actually liked them when I saw them in 2004, the earliest I recall seeing them. Everyone on BZP got really mad, especially on the Matoran that year where they were prominent, but I thought they helped remind us that those peices weren't there. In the BIONICLE canon, beings aren't made up of parts held together by pins and axels, but my organic material.
There aren't any pins in the canon, and so having the actual pins blue reminds us of that. The pins exist only to help hold the set together, and they do that job well, and being blue helps them do it. You notice a lack of pins in the movies.
Does that make sense? | |

| Sure, they might serve to remind us that in the STORY, they don't exist. But do they have to be a clashing color in the SETS? They only work properly in same-colored MOCs, if you want a "correct" color scheme or something. Is it really necessary to have some odd color of pin or axle to hold the sets themselves together? Oh, and they change pretty much the entire appearance of the sets in the movies, so I hardly think that multicolored pins are going to show up. -|W|G|- | |

| Then I recommend getting Cahdok and Gahdok. Lots of white pins. -|W|G|- | |

| No, we want white... White on black is a little less noticeable than black on white, I think.
